@InPhinity where did you get the information that 1100 people applied?
when do results come out for US applicants? even if its roughly based on past years’ admission notification dates.
@Yoyoma123 from the SSTP website: Notification of acceptance status: April 2, 2018—5:00 pm CST
i got accepted to astrophysics in Univ. of Colorado Boulder! (international student) fellow astrophysics buds hit me up yo
@sciGirl123 they mentioned in the acceptance email that around 1100 applied and they accepted around 108 (if im not mistaken)
@JKMSNJ The above date is for the Belin-Blank Secondary Student Training Program (SSTP).
This thread is for the Summer Science Program (SSP) at https://summerscience.org/
Two years ago decisions were emailed on April 11.
@Ynotgo my bad. thought it’s SSTP thread.
@yeaboiiiii congrats!!! what were ur stats and ecs and do you know how many international vs us applied?
@yeaboiiiii Congrats! If it’s not too personal, could you share a little bit about your application materials?
@InPhinity do you know how many internationals vs us applied this year? and specifically how much for astrophysics?
Is there any info on the biochem acceptance rate last year or do they just give an overall acceptance rate?
@college717 No… they don’t tell you much in a rejection letter anyway.
As I remember my essays, I realized that I forgot to include the location + name of the university of my internship from last year
@aks1118 last year in biochem, 411 ish applied for 24 spots.
it seems like they’re really not going for perfect scores, etc by the looks of it. @ everyone who got accepted: did yall have anything that you really think stood out to them?? just curious bc it seems like a lot of people are getting rejected even with like…perfect scores and stuff yikes (not that i have perfect scores lol)
@trademistakes i lurked on last years thread last year a lot and it seems like they really emphasize your short answers & your interest in science above test scores.my essays were p bad though so rip haha
Thank you @Ynotgo! My son ended up not applying, due to a medical issue, he won’t be going to residential camps this year. Thanks for your help.
@Micc I hope your son’s medical issue improves soon.
@Ynotgo Thank you! It will be a long process.
Does anybody know the geographic distribution for accepted applicants? I’m out in the middle of Montana and I don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing.
