Summer Science Program (SSP) 2010

by the way, would you like to share what is your program in Hong kong? Sounds interesting

I guess…I chickened out and ended with the universal Sincerely.

If I go to SSP, I might tell Bowdon about my alternative letter ending.

If I go to SSP, I might tell Bowdon how I tried with another email address :)

I won’t have any anxiety induced stories to tell if I end up attending lol

It is a 2 week summer program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I am actually not excited about it because it is too short. Also because they wouldn’t give me scholarship money, making it as expensive as SSP. So in my opinion, not worth it.

I have two other programs that I haven’t heard from yet. SSI at wisconsin and Carleton CSSI

That is really expensive for a 2-week program.
Really hope to see you in SSP  if I get in

i haven’t emailed mr Bowdon yet…should i? =)

oh lc, You are already in. Didn’t Bowdon tell you that you are HIGHLY LIKELY to get in. Which really translates to a yes. Don’t freak out. :)

As for me, I can only cross my fingers and hope. (I did put in my essay that “Finding SSP was almost like the dream come true, and attending SSP will BE the dream come true.” Hope that helps.)

^ nice one
i hope we all make it =)

@Selena, if you have to respond to another program or something along those lines, go ahead. But if not, I recommend that you wait.

I emailed him because I have to respond to a program by this wednesday.

OR if so many people bugging him, he may say, hold on till Tuesday and all the decisions will be released

^ yup exactly what i’m thinking…heh
but ok then, i’ll just wait…

I hate having no official admission notification date. I almost wouldn’t mind if that date were in say, May, but just to know when so I don’t have to frantically check my email every day.

I have no official reason (like another program) to bug Mr. Bowdon, but I support all of you who are!

that’s exactly what I think,too

why he couldn’t give us a date??!

Maybe SSP alumni can send him an e-mail asking about this year’s application process, since they are closer to Mr.Bowdon they may get some insider’s news, and it won’t hurt anyone. lol

Fingers crossed. I hope somehow Mr. Bowdon like sees this thread and be like ohh all this people on this thread seem really intersted. Lets Give them admission LOL :p

BTW I did like bad this March SATs. Like really Bad :(

my SAT is not even 2100… so, don’t worry
comparing to our super 2400er here~

I think if I email him again, he will probabaly say, what does she want NOW? and sigh…

Mine is not even near 1800 So like don’t even ask. The only thing I did good was Math and the Essay . ALl other are like really really low.

Hmm I guess we should wait a lil bit more. Like it would be so many emails and like he would become annoyed that cant these people have some patience. So like wait and let him relax so that he can make good admission decisions :)

but SSP said 2-3 weeks
now it has been 4 weeks

True. I guess they got more applications than last year? From what I heard people are saying that the “hotness” of SSP is increasing year by year. So Like in a couple of years It would be almost impossible for anyone to atleast hope they can get in. You never know how many smarty pants are around the whole world.
I am just waiting for SSP as I have now no other science program option except boys state which is like 6 days program. Two weeks ago I denied my admission to stanford’s summer in anticipation of ssp and also because it was mad expensive. So now all hopes on SSP

@lc

I thought he meant 2-3 weeks starting like last week?
