NIH vs. MD Anderson vs. UTMB vs. independent research at Emory. In terms of prestige, how would you rank these programs?

It depends on how you define “prestige” and what sort of scale/criteria you are using.

which looks the best to colleges and which is the most difficult in admission?

RSI is likely the most “prestigious”, but I don’t see how it matters–they’re different types of programs, so you can’t expect to rate them similarly, and prestige is largely irrelevant, as it doesn’t matter which looks prettier in name. You have to make the most of whichever you’re in, and that’s what makes the difference–not that you took part in X program, but that you got some Y experience, which resulted in Z achievement and ZZ personal development.

which one, other than RSI, has the lowest acceptance rate?

NIH is a good choice… I’m not familiar with the other programs.

Do something that interests you, NOT something that “looks good” on paper. The experience is what you make it.

thanks for the advice
