Who on here will be going to it?

I'm in session A. Kinda excited/nervous/not quite knowing what to expect.

Let us know if you have any questions. I know that last year before summer seminar I spent hours searching for any little tidbit of info I could. They really don't tell you much about summer seminar before hand, so I was really excited/nervous to figure out what it was all about.

In the end it was had a pretty easy going vibe (except for doolie for a day) and was a cool chance to learn about the Academy.

PT was nothing that most people can't handle so don't stress about that.

Wow, summer seminar time again - amazing how time flies. It doesn't seem like long ago, but my element leader from SS is now a lieutenant...

Anyway, Summer Sem is fairly relaxed and easy going, as kbd said. The majority of your time will be spend in your classes and workshops, but you'll get a decent feel for other things too, such as learning knowledge and eating at Mitch's. I don't really remember much of Doolie for a Day, to be honest with you, but I'm sure that was a good experience too. Most importantly, it'll give you a chance to see the campus and figure out whether or not this really might be for you. SS is a good time, so enjoy it!

I will be attending session A, I leave sunday morning

I'm also in Session A!

hmmm...not really sure how many questions i have to ask...i think it's one of those things you just have to experience to know exactly what it's like.

i do have one question, though. will we have the opportunity to use computers?

Does anyone have any ideas of how to maybe get together one of the days? I think that would be kind of cool.

Starvinmarvin, when I was at Summer Seminar '07, there was absolutely no time to arrange meetings with other people save for the very last evening we spent there (which was after the conclusion of Doolie for a Day). Even then, you'll probably be less inclined to go running around meeting people after you just went through 10 hours of beat sessions.
Make no mistake, Summer Seminar is more or less a walking tour for the first few days, but you are still a guest there. You will be with your element for nearly every waking moment while you're there; you can't just walk around the Academy as you please.

DMAC09, unless you have a very generous Element Leader, chances are you won't even see a computer there. My element got to watch a movie on a laptop once while there, but that was it. Why would you want to use a computer anyway? I recommend immersing yourself in whatever experiences you can while you're there and forgetting about everything else. You only get to spend four full days there, so make the most of them.

Anyone reccomend to bring anything that wasn't on the list?

a deck of cards :)
maybe you'll use them, maybe you won't, but it's always good to have 'em

A great attitude and the desire to have lot's of fun. Oh and a few extra $ to buy all those great keepsakes and USAFA sweatshirts you'll want to wear this year and hide in a closet next year.

My daughter arrived home late last night from the AFA session A. Does anyone have pics or video of their experience?

Did they show a video at the end of the week? Because last year they made a video and posted it on youtube a few months later

They made a video this year. We got to see it at the briefing on Thursday night after the last official dining experience in Mitchell Hall. They said that it would be put up on youtube but it hasn't yet. Everyone who went will be getting a copy of it on a DVD.

(I'm in a few of the shots, I know for sure of two. One when I'm doing sit-ups for the CFA (I can recognize myself because of my sliders I was wearing) and once coming out of my room after being woken up on Doolie Day.)

Yeah, I went to Session A. A-flight A-14! We killed at dodgeball...
