Summer Seminar

I never found out...I don't think they wanted to be there in the first place. Obviously, they kinda showed that they didn't. haha
But, I (We) digress... :)

hahaha gotcha

when do we find out if we got in to ss?

If I recall correctly, last year a few people heard in February but the majority of folks heard in April (after the deadline for all applications).

A few years ago my son was accepted to all four summer leadership seminars, he attended three & said that the USNA seminar was the most physically demanding among USAFA, USMA & USNA. Air Force was the most academic since cadets need several months to acclimatize to the high altitude climate.

I'm curious to anyone who may know, does USAFA use rolling admissions for their summer seminar?

It has been my goal to attend a service academy since 8th grade, and I have been working dilligently to make that a reality ever since. To be honest, USNA is my first choice, but USAFA is very close after. I will also apply to West Point and the Coast Guard Academy.

I submitted my USAFA summer seminar application when it opened on Dec 1. Later in December I submitted my West Point Summer Seminar application and recieved a letter of acceptance to the program a little over a week later (Dec 21). This has made me nervous about USAFA as my status is still "applicant" (file under consideration). Should I be worried?

Thank you!!!

yep, it's rolling. don't worry, they accept through march, i believe :)
good luck!

Muff is surfing by even while on Holiday...

I should be seeing Hornet tonight at the joint academies ball here in Houston. Have a good break!

Related to the thread - Muff is correct (as usual) it is rolling admissions. Although as I stated above, most of the final decisions seem to be made in early April.

Indeed we did see each other! Was nice meeting you and Soaring Son.

Nice to finally meet the mighty Hornetguy! Great party!

I can't wait to find out if I get in. I just have to figure out the best way for me to present my resume :)

And as for a hard week, Cross Country Camp was CRAZY. 65 miles that week. I was so tired all the time, dirty, stinky, and miserable. It was fun though, getting to know all the other CC people from two other schools. That was really my first taste of what you can do when you have other people there doing the same thing and being as miserable as you are.

As much as I disliked it, I would do it all over again.

overachiever: I ran xc for the last three years at my hs so i know exactly what you mean. haha
but I applied to the afa summer seminar on 1/10 and i got accepted today to go, so if anyone can give me tips for this summer dont be a stranger.

Just don't do anything stupid.

Seriously, though. Your element leader will fill out a form at the end of the week, telling admissions whether he/she thinks you'd be a good candidate. As long as you don't do anything ridiculous, you should get a nice letter in your file. Enjoy the week, learn from it, and see what you think.

have fun. bring a deck of cards. some kids resorted to making their own. lol.
