Well the first place to look would be at universities and colleges. Many schools now offer summer programs for rising high school seniors. These programs sometimes include a study abroad option in which you take 2-4 college courses, and if you pass, you receive the corresponding credits.

I would advise that you start researching very soon if you plan on traveling this summer, seeing as how many program deadlines are nearing a close.

NYU offers a great study abroad program (from what I’ve heard) which includes locations from Europe to South America to Africa. I believe the app. deadline is April 15, though so maybe this wouldn’t be the best option.

Also, People to People is a great organization in regards to traveling and learning abroad. I know several people who have done it, and have nothing but good things to say about it. This doesn’t offer college credits, but it does however, make you stand out (somewhat) on college applications.

I’m already in college. I just need to make up some credits and hopefully gain some more too. I don’t need it for this year. Only for next summer or the summer after that.
