Summer Undergraduate Internship - Public Policy/Human Rights

Hey everyone,

I’m a first-year undergraduate student looking to find an internship for this upcoming summer. My college has a summer internship funding program where they will provide you funds for unpaid internships so cost isn’t really in the equation. I’m looking for internships that focus on Public Policy, Human Rights, LGBTQ+ equality, racial justice, prison reform and related areas. I’ve already found some through Amnesty International and the ACLU but they are pretty competitive. I was wondering if anyone had any other organizations or databases they would recommend for internships in these areas. Thanks!

You have probably already looked at idealist.com in their internship section. One additional internship is with a human rights advocacy organization, the Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office. They have been very active on LGBT rights in Uganda and worldwide. http://www.uua.org/international/un/198983.shtml
