Summer Visits?

I know there is already a thread about this, but I had a few specific questions!
First of all, do you take a guided tour or a self-guided one? Also, while you're there, can you talk with professors or counselors if you have any questions? And since this is Georgia, I know it will be extremely hot outside- is most of the tour outdoors? (Sorry if that's a stupid question!)

Thanks!

I would strongly suggest a guided tour. First, it will be difficult to talk to an Emory student in the summer. There are many on campus. The guided tour insures you will meet at least one. Second, you will sign up in the Admissions office and that counts as ‘demonstrated interest’ which is quite important for Emory prospective students. After the summer session ends in July, there won’t be many professors around till right near when school starts in Aug. So, consider the timing.

Finally, yes, it will be hot, maybe very hot. The tour goes in and out of buildings so there will be some relief from the heat. The summer tour guides will probably talk more inside buildings than when the tours are in the spring and fall but be prepared for GA heat. Fortunately, Emory students are largely spared the period (summer) of Atlanta’s worst weather.

I’ll be here for the summer if you want to talk to an Emory student who doesnt get paid to sell Emory to students. I’ll actually tell you the truth lol.

I’ll probably be going near the end of July or early August, but to the Oxford campus instead because that’s most likely where I’ll be going. And I’m not too worried about the Georgia heat- I live even farther south so I’m already used to it. :stuck_out_tongue:

And aluminum, if I visit the Atlanta campus instead (I heard that Oxford is having construction work done and that tours are limited), I’ll definitely try to take you up on that offer! :D
