Looking for a summer voice program for my HS daughter interested in MT, classically trained soprano. Have looked at Interlochen, read about Boston Conservatory, any others you'd recommend more towards the Southeast? Thanks

Look at Oklahoma City University. It's not exactly Southeast, but seems closer than Boston. Their website has lots of good info and they give scholarships to kids with stuff like All State. The program looks awesome.

ps - when we saw Wicked in Houston, the girl who was Elphaba had gone to OCU.

Sorry for multiple posts. Kristen Chenoweth also went to OCU. The summer program is found in a side bar under the Performing Arts Academy, under Musical Theater. Hope this helps.

There are two threads on the MT forum which have lots of info:

Hope this helps...

I would recommend Interlochen. The voice faculty is excellent, and your D will be given an honest assessment of her talent level.

I attended the Summer Vocal Choral Institute at Boston Conservatory and I would highly reccomend it. Great staff and guest artists and the chance to sing at master classes. It has a great focus on sight reading as well as music theory. There are also a lot of performance oppurtunities as well.
