Hello everyone:

I recently got accepted to SUNY Binghamton, and I sent my deposit. I also applied to Penn State, UMD College Park, and American University. I really like PSU but it's twice the cost of Bing (considering I'm a NY resident).

Although I liked Binghamton when I visited it in October, I have my doubts. There is no football team, from what I've heard a severe lack of school spirit, and there are many negative reviews on studentsreview.com. Is anyone else here a high school senior debating whether or not to go to Binghamton? Anyone currently a student at Binghamton that can offer me their opinion on the negative things I've heard?

Thanks!

Depending upon your interests..... and what you are looking for.
Penn State is a great combo of social/academics. It also has a higher peer assessment, ranking and many more positives for state universities.

PS. Check out Princeton Review rankings, US News and other rankings and you will see that Binghamton's reputation for academics and social life has much room for improvement. If $$$ is a high priority Binghamton is a good alternative. With the taxes NYers pay, they should have better undergrad schools or at least 1 top notch university.
Binghamton is known primarily in NY. Penn State is a national or shall I say international university.

thanks for the responses everyone............bump
