SUNY EOP Acceptances For 2018

Public school is free but the funding for public schools is based on property taxes, so if you can’t afford to live in an area with good funding your education suffers

@alreadyadoctor
my son was in the same situation as you. We had to support a family of 6, living in a poor, nasty uptown in Ny. However my son did not let financial issues get in his way of his academics. He got into Stony, Bing, waiting for NYU, with 90 gpa and 1420.Good luck to you too.

it’s a “you need to be there to know” situation. People who haven’t experienced this, just don’t get it, and that’s ok I guess. Everyone’s situation or ‘terms’ are different.

we as a parent work hard. Its your job as student to study your butt off to be academically eligble. You’ll understand my situation inside a few decades. Good luck

its sad that students are using financial issues, bad “teachers” and “school”, and not having a tutor, as an excuse to do “not-so-well” in academics.

@classof2028 It’s not an excuse. While we do try our best, but some families are better off and give resources to their children such as receiving a tutor for standardized testing or regular academics. It’s not intentional to do bad so we can use having a poor financial background to appear better. Most of us have put in our all, and the fact that you can just speak without knowing anyone else’s financial situation is beyond me, it’s not a good thing to do. Most of us have different lives, you can’t use your own experiences and put them out on other people and tell them they’re just making excuses.

This person is just trying to get a rise out of us. “Any attention is better than none”. Just ignore them. Anyone who can’t understand how an inferior education and lack of school and community resources can lead to lower test scores is obviously playing some sort of game. Don’t engage.

While others are salty, i’m counting my successes. :slight_smile:

On another note, has anyone applied and received an acceptance for EOP at Binghamton?

@jcandvoidz no. I didn’t get any email about eop academic eligibilty since I submitted the application.

all excuses. My son lacked school and community resources, still managed to get a 1420 by going to a library. What are SAT textbooks for then? For you to get a 1170? :))

@nk1822 when did you apply?

@nk1822 i got the email about being academically eligible a long while ago, but havent heard anything new… I sent in my financial stuff as well.

@jcandvoidz I applied in mid november.
@alreadyadoctor then I guess I am not acadmically eligible for Bing EOP.

@nk1822 @alreadyadoctor i recently switched my application over to EOP like last week Im waiting for a response, but mid november? That’s insane.

Lol you’re on a forum arguing with teenagers about SAT scores.

Has your son sat in classrooms where there was no teacher for two-four months?

Your son goes to school uptown ny, how bad is it really?

@jcandvoidz I finished my SUNY CUNY earlier cause I had to work on my essays for private. Does your bing portal have anything saying “EOP opt out form” ?

do kids sit in classrooms and kids yell so loud you can’t hear teachers?
