Suny oswego and Plattsburgh thoughts

Got accepted into both and I would like to know people’s thoughts on both of them, what the social life is like and stuff like that

My D and one of my sons both attended Plattsburgh. My D had an active social life consisting of volunteering for various things, like the off campus health food shop, performing in a singing group and at open mic nights, as well as running activities as an RA. My son helped start a chess club and was active in things like D & D, magic (the card game, not the Houdini/Criss Angel stuff) and the student government. Both of them had active and, from what it seemed, fulfilling social lives there.

I don’t know much about Oswego. One friend of my sons’ went there, graduated and loved it. A friend of my third son went there and left after the first year, hating it.

Honestly, if Plattsburgh offered the program my S17 wanted to study, he would not have applied to any other schools. As a parent, I love Plattsburgh. It was easy to get to by Amtrak - a long ride but better than driving, to me, the campus is pretty, the school personnel are responsive.

What program are you interested in?

I either want to do finance or criminal justice , still undecided though

I can’t speak for your kid, but my son loves SUNY. I would highly recommend SUNY.

Did you make a choice? My youngest will be going to a different SUNY this year.
