I have personally at least 3 that have been fired for DUI's. We just lost 1 last month. He was a great commander and it will be a loss, but it was a stupid action...caught going through the gates on Sat. New CO in position Sunday night.

For the few folks who believe that the tough stand taken by the current Supe re alcohol abuse at USNA is somehow out of line . . . these articles detail how it is viewed in the Fleet.

People who drink excessively make stupid mistakes, such as driving or sexual assault, that can ruin their careers -- or someone else's life. You can only hope that a tough lesson learned early in life re responsible use of alcohol will prevent needing to learn it later.

I agree, also how can u command if u have broken the law. Just because u didn't get caught before doesn't make it illegal. Most importantly I couldn't care if they keep firing them, afterall, my s or d could be the one hit by them. If u want to be a leader accept the fact that you must live your life as a leader. If u wouldn't accept it as a CO then if you do it, u deserv the punishment that u would have handed out.

Meant to say LEGAL
