<p>When they say academic subjects, does that pertain only to core classes like math or English, or just school subjects in general like art? I asked my art teacher, who said that art would count as an academic subject, but now I'm wondering if she was referring to the arts supplement rec letter...</p>

<p>Hey, I don’t think art would count as an academic subject, but you should ask your guidance counselor to be sure. If art were an academic subject, then all school classes would be.</p>
<p>They mean academic eg math, english, history or science. However, many schools will accept additional recommendations from other teachers so go ahead and ask your art teacher to do one as well then add hers to those schools you can send extra ones to.</p>
