I took the new SAT May session without taking the essay.
My scores were somewhat competitive, so I decided to apply for ivies.
Now ivies mostly require the essay to be taken so I am planning to go for the October session with essay.
Now my question is:
Will these colleges superscore using Math- Reding/Writing scores from the Maynew SAT session where I took no essay, or are they going to consider only the October session with essay taken?
I am worried my good results might be replaced by less favorable ones.
Colleges have different policies. Some superscore, in which case you just tell them your highest score in each section. Others don’t superscore, so you should send them your May and October scores. Either way, your chances won’t be damaged by a slightly less favorable October score.
They may or may not consider your new scores without an essay. You’ll need to contact the schools to find out.
Got this back and need an interpretation!!
"Thank you for your email and your interest in Princeton. Because we require the SAT to be taken with writing, we will not superscore between sittings of the SAT that do and do not include the writing portion of the test."
Now, the New SAT components are:
1-Evidence-Based Reading and Writing
a)Reading Test
b)Writing and Language Test
2-Math
3-Essay (optional)
So, when they referred to “the writing portion” did they mean “the writing and language test” of the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, OR, did they mean “The ESSAY”?
Can anyone tell?
