Reach: Worcester Polytech, Purdue, John Hopkins,

I really just want to get into Umass Amherst, I would love to know the chances for this.

I would really appreciate your thoughts.

An issue for you, is that you’ve spent so much time on your ECs, that most schools would be concerned that these ECs were at the expense of your grades/stats. Your GPA doesn’t match your test scores.

At a university, you take courses, other than CS, to get a diploma.

These are the stats for the SUNYs:
https://www.suny.edu/media/suny/content-assets/documents/summary-sheets/Admissions_qf_stateop.pdf

For UMASS their admitted student profiles list ACT score minimums at 24-29.

Retake your tests.

Are your Math scores much higher than the composites? For CS majors, that might make a difference. However, if you can raise your overall scores, it would definitely help.

With those stats, you will get in somewhere “decent”, as you describe it- so do not worry about that. I don’t know much about UMass Amherst admissions, so I cannot offer much sound advice in that regard. Your extracurriculars sound interesting and distinguish you- use your essays to really highlight them. Your limiting factors are your test scores/GPA. Your GPA is pretty much locked in as a senior, but try to improve your test scores if you can. I actually had a similar high school GPA and I ended up alright.
