superscore? how do you know what scores schools take?

I read on another thread about a student using superscore and only sending colleges their best scores for each section. Is that possible? Does Collegeboard know what scores to send? How can we tell what scores a school with actually see?

Thanks

yeah im wondering this too

Schools differ on their policies. For example, I am most familiar with Columbia policy as I’m hoping to apply there in the future, and from their website I have found that they want all of your scores, but they also state they will be looking at the highest score you get in every section, therefore superscoring it.

Whether or not a school superscores is their own choice (as far as I know), so it might be best to check on each school’s policy individually. I think you would find that in many cases, their websites will provide sufficient information.

[SAT Score Choice - A New Way To Report SAT Scores](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>Send SAT Scores to Colleges - SAT Suite | College Board)

Go to the bottom and click on “SAT Score-Use Practices List” and it will give you a list of every single college in the US and which score choice practice they use

Hope that helps!
