SUPERSCORE!!

Hi Everyone. I'm an international student.

The first time I took my SAT I got a 1970 (CR: 620, M: 700, W: 620 Essay: 8)
The second time I took my SAT I got a 2190 (CR: 690, M: 710, W: 790 Essay:11)
I am planning to take another SAT this December and rush it to the colleges' offices for ED and RD.
The colleges that I 'm applying for are: University of Richmond, Haverford, Colgate, Mount Holyoke, St. Olaf, Calvin, Baylor. I've checked with most of the colleges and they accepted standardized test scores that were taken no later than December so the test dates aren't the issue.

My question is:
Should I send my first SAT score (1970) together with my second (2190) and my third (I don't have a choice for this because it's a rush). I have clearly improved in all the subject areas on my second SAT testing from my first one, so is there a need to send the colleges the result of my first one? I mean 200 points jump is a huge improvement, and I've heard that many colleges are suspicious of South Korean students' (I am one too) SAT scores. On the other hand, will sending the first one show that I have tried and improved? The Essay I wrote for the first one is pretty messed up (hence its score - 8) and I also read that colleges do have the access to my terrible essay if I choose to send the 1st scores!! Hmm DILEMMA!!

My second question is:
I am aiming to heavily increase my MATH scores on the coming SAT in December and not focus on other subjects. I am aiming for a 800. This means that on top of finishing off my 1st semester of senior year, plus all the IB projects and tests, plus the SAT subject tests that I am going to take in October and November, plus so many extracurriculars that I'm involved in, plus TOEFL test at the end of November, I wouldn't have the time to concentrate on my reading and writing. I am not particularly worried about a drop in writing score (I am confident that I won't score below 700) but reading, CR is the problem... It's not like my reading would improve in a month and CR is always the hardest section for me... I will probably do a worse job on CR for sure, which will definitely lower my scores and my overall score. Now since the scores are rushed to the colleges after the examination in December, what kind of impact would that have in the college admission? Say from 2190 I dropped down to 2000 (CR: 560 M: 760 W: 680) - not probable but possible scenario?

THANKS EVERYONE :-)

By the way, this is a comprehensive list of college-specific test policies!!
I found this pdf very helpful!!

Yet I need some help with my dilemma… :(

I can tell you that richmond does superscore, so a drop in one category won’t affect you. I don’t know about all the other schools, but you should send all your scores so that they can superscore. Most colleges don’t read the sat essays i believe. Rushing december scores won’t have any impact on your scores, so it won’t adversely affect your admissions.

Well, certainly don’t send the first score unless the college requires all scores. Which I doubt any colleges on your list from your other thread do. I can’t think of a single reason why you would want to show them your lower scores. @uguineagir96, think about it. EVERY score is lower in the first test. Why would the OP send those along?

I suppose you are taking a small risk with sending your third score set. Have you checked each college for their policy on superscoring? Any of them that superscore, you should definitely send the third set.

@intparent‌ Yes, I have checked all my schools and only Colgate requires all scores. I could remove the October SAT subject tests and take the SAT reasoning test in October if it clashes with UR’s deadlines for test score submission, but I doubt I will be ready by then. Just the thought of starting 1st semester of senior year in what two days? is killing me!! I probably will find both the October and December equally busy though… Arggg!!! So much stress… When it says “We will accept all standardized testing that is completed no later than December.” on the website, December SAT is on the safety line, right? Not sure if this is applicable for ED also…

Well, I would think it is pushing it to use a Dec score for ED. My daughter’s ED results from U of Chicago came back in December if I remember right, for example. So it doesn’t make sense that you could use them for that.
