"Superscoring" the New SAT essay?

Do colleges who superscore take the highest essay score of an SAT taken? For example, if one scores a 1600 but gets a 6/6/6 on the essay, but retakes the SAT and gets 1500 with 8/8/8 on the essay, will the college consider solely the 1600 and the 8/8/8?

To clarify, I am asking whether the college will consider the highest essay score, just like they consider the highest SAT superscore (the colleges that superscore, at least).
