Does Middlebury care what grade you recieved on the paper? I got an A-.

I thought you offered to help.

Greetings from the Cornell board :)

My essay is about my autistic brother and how people unknowingly toss around words about people like him while in reality they have no idea what it is like to be autistic or to live with someone like my brother.

I am still kind of confused about what paper to send in. What do you guys think they mean by "critical"? Does it actually have to do with a book-realted paper? What about a position paper on a particular subject? I am taking an expository writing class that I am excelling in right now but we are reading mostly short stories and essays and writing on our own views. If this is inappropriate, I'll really have to do some digging to find something else.

hm..wait..wasnt it due december 15th?..like postmarked..even the reg decision?

The supplement was, but not the essay.

yea the essay is due the 1st i believe. anyway, after thinking long and hard i finally finished it and sent my application.

has anyone's submitted pre-application no longer appear on bannerweb, like there's no record of it ever existing?

Skybaker, yep. Weird, huh? little concerned...

Hi all,

I'm looking for a good "recent, brief, analytical or critical essay (not a research paper) showing teacher notations and comments"

Now, it says "not a research paper," but I have a literary research paper. Instead of a simply fact finding research, it was comparing a literary element between two books. If there were no sources, than it would be a perfect analytical essay, but these seem to disqualify it.

I am leaning towards not sending it, because technically it is a research paper. However, it does demontrate my writing and analytic abilities than any paper I can now locate (i'm going to do some more searching).

What do you think, go with the technical request or give the good paper?

P.S. (I'm supposing that any replies I get may be too late. I need to mail these off by 7:00 Eastern time)

i say send it. adcoms won't spend hours trying to decide whether it is a research paper or not; if it has no sources, nor is extremely long or boring and if you are able to restrain yourself from implicitly or explicitly stating that it is a research paper then they will have no reason to suspect that it is a research paper. I don't think they care that much about the 'research paper' per say, I think they just assume all research papers are 10+ pages in length and they don't have the time to read that much. Good luck!

Does it have to be an english paper? On the pre-app it doesn't mention anything of the sort, but then on the website I believe it says something about it. Geez Midd, be consistent!

I found another essay that will work. It is handwritten, and shows good off-the cuff writing style. I'm using the research paper for Swarthmore, and maybe others that say any acedemic work.

Thanks loco.
