I've choose this topic : “Stereotyped beliefs have the power to become self-fulfilling prophesies for behavior.”
Elizabeth Aries, Professor of Psychology, Amherst College. From her book Men and Women in Interaction, Reconsidering the Difference.

But I am having a hard time understanding the meaning of "Stereotyped" in this topic.
Can someone give me a example or a short note about what kinds of things will I have to write in order to answer this topic.

I think the point is that you write about what you think the quote means - I can think of several different ways to go about writing this essay. Choose whichever one calls to you. You can look at other people’s essays that they’ve written in response to this topic (just try Googling the prompt and see if people have posted their essays), but obviously don’t copy theirs, and be genuine in your response. Part pf what they’re looking at is how YOU interpret the quote, so to tell you what to write about in response to it would defeat the purpose.

The Amherst supplements were the worst for me. I definitely struggled with their prompts more than any others’. But basically you just interpret the quote however you want. Write about what it means to you. Write using whatever form you want. While the prompts are super specific quotes, the essay is actually as open-ended as possible because you can do so much with it. I found that once I sat down and actually started writing it, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I had feared.

Is there anything to the prompt other than the quote? Like, does it say, “Discuss,” or “Argue for or against,” or “Describe your personal experiences with this phenomenon,” or what?

Is stereotyped means a negative thing in this topic. All the essays that I’ve read about this topic is using stereotyped in a bad way. I’m not getting it.
Actually I don’t understand the word " STEREOTYPED".

@jpheys it says : Please respond to one of the following quotations in an essay of not more than 300 words. It is not necessary to research, read, or refer to the texts from which these quotations are taken; we are looking for original, personal responses to these short excerpts. Remember that your essay should be personal in nature and not simply an argumentative essay.’

This may sound sassy (I don’t mean it to; I actually have a point in asking this), but, why did you choose this prompt if you don’t know how you want to answer it?
