On the supplement, what kinds of books did you guys put? is it ok, if the books I put have nothing to do with science (harry potter :D)? or is caltech just tryin to see what kind of outside science books we read?

Well, considering they tell you that you that the books don't have to be science/ math related, I'm pretty sure that putting harry potter would be just fine. I definitely didn't put anything to do with science on that list! In fact, I put a Dr. Seuss book on there, as it was "particularly meaningful" to me. :)

I listed a Harry Potter book as one of the three... and am now a tech frosh.

Given that the House system in Caltech so closely resembles Hogwarts, using HP as a favorite book makes sense to me.

haha! i wrote hp because it was the first long English book that I've read. Took me soo long to read it, but i felt really accomplished after i was done ( it took a whole week).

hahaha I put harry potter as an example, but thanks guys!!!

plus I would just like to throw this out there: the CALTECH SUPPLMENT IS HARD!

ok :)

I picked all non-fiction works. Furthermore, only one was loosely related to science whatsoever (it dealt with, in some ways, the ethics associated with science). I'd list them, but that'd spoil the fun for you prefrosh.

fiction, classic, book i read for school. they all had little to no connection to math/science
