The Bard forum doesn’t seem to get much traffic, but I thought I’d post this here in case anyone could answer. One of the options for the supplemental essay is to send in a graded essay from a class. This obviously is the least time-consuming option, but I’m wondering whether it might come off as though the applicant doesn’t care as much as the applicants who write new essays for the supplement. Any ideas?

D sent a graded essay and was accepted. FWIW.

I submitted a graded essay. If anything, it just shows them how you think and write in an academic setting, much more than writing an essay in order to get into a college. It is certainly not looked down upon, just as not submitting test scores is not looked down upon (and, in fact, encouraged unless you’re positive that your scores will put a better light on your application).

shouldn’t really matter, if you really want to get in just write about how you love sniffing coke in the woods.

Yeah, because that’s everything that describes a Bardian, of course.

…
