supplementary letter of recommendation

Hi guys,

So I had a professor mail in a supplementary letter of recommendation for me, but how does the Yale admissions office link it back to my common application? There's no way for me to signify on the commonapp that I have a supplementary letter, and the letter arrived before I submitted the common app so how will the admissions office know that I have one? I hope that makes sense, thanks!

If the professor put your name, high school, date of birth etc – something identifying you on the top of the letter – then it will make it into your file. You just have to assume that it got there, as there is not way to know for sure (outside of calling Admissions, asking them to check your file for the letter and basically becoming a pest).

Okay thanks! So I’m guessing that calling and asking them to check for it is not advised…

^^ Correct.
