Can I submit art slides AND creative writing (essay AND poetry) in my supplement? or do i have to choose just one?

You don't have to choose one, but don't do "overkill". Sometimes abundance of supplementary materials is a turn off for college admissions people.

So many students are involved in so many things these days (sometimes only for college admission), that admissions people are overwhelmed! Often honest and unpretentious statements backed by good academic performance are all one needs to get in.

Anyway this is my opinion, and as far as my daughter is concerned, it's worked wonderfully.

thank you so much for the feedback. If I don;t have greats that are AMAZING.. should i back it up? or do you think it would make it worse?

*grades not "greats" :P

You don't need AMAZING grades, persay - you just need goods ones, generally. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by backing those grades up. But do make sure to show a clear passion! Some supplementary materials are alright, but I can definitely second the statement that too much overwhelms Admissions from being there earlier - it is a flurry of activity with things coming in everywhere, since we're getting more apps than ever before. Definitely send in the stronger of the two, and if you're really into it, I guess do a second, but seriously - don't go overboard, as onemoreparent said.

do you think it is too late to submit a supplemental recommendation to swat?

No (10char)

:o I thought the deadline was 1/1 !!!
So.. it is not late to submit suppl materials either? (it would be SO GREAT)

as long as you submit your common app by 1/1, you can always send suppl material later -- but not forever of course.
