Supplies

I am a biology major this fall on a pre-med track. Therefore, I will most likely be taking the following classes:

Bio 1 & Lab
Chem 1 & Lab
Math (not sure on the class yet since I’m at least placed out of Calc 1 but probably Stats)
Spanish
Seminar

What types of supplies will I need? Should I get a 2 subject notebooks for Bio & Chem which are sequence classes? Should I get a graph paper notebook or regular notebook for my math class? What type of notebooks would you need for Seminar and Spanish? I read to get one 1.5 or 2" binder with dividers to hold papers from each class and one folder to hold general papers. Also, in terms of miscellaneous supplies, will I ever need colored pencils? I appreciate any feedback

It’s a bit early to be thinking about class supplies. Wait until you’ve signed up for classes and then consider your supplies.
The standard for all students should be:
-notebook for each class
-pens (black or blue) and pencils
-laptop/electronic device for online work

Most professors will list required textbooks and other necessary supplies online when school is closer to starting. In general, college professors don’t care if you use notebooks, looseleafs, folders or anything else you like to keep notes so you can either buy what you like or wait until you start classes and pick supplies up at the bookstore/Amazon/local store after your first class.

FWIW my D liked spiral notebooks for each class and my S liked to have a separate 1 inch binder for each class. It is really personal preference. Both found it helpful to have a few folders.

Some other school supply items they brought to college included basic desk supplies…stapler, tape, three hole punch (for S who liked looseleafs), paper clips, pens, pencils, desk lamp, highlighters, scissors, flash drive, index cards (for my D who liked to study with flash cards) to name a few things.
