Can any SCM majors comment on the quality of the program? Have you had difficulty getting internships or in the Phoenix area?

Just graduated with a SCM degree this past may. The quality of the program is top notch, and definitely aligned with the rankings. Classes are very applicable for work outside class, most professors are interesting and informative, and job placement is excellent. There is the Supply Chain Management Association on campus which holds 2 career fairs each year. Here’s a list of companies that attended last year: [Supply Chain Management Association](http://www.asuscma.org/index.php?view=e.Student)

All of my supply chain friends have had no issue finding high quality internships and jobs, both in the Phoenix area and outside. During my time at ASU, I held three supply chain-related internships (two in Phoenix) and was fortunate enough to have several job offers to choose from after graduation, and this was the same across all those I knew in the program. It was definitely an in-demand major. Not trying to brag, just saying that if you do well in the program, you will have lots of opportunities to choose from. Message me if you’d like any more info.

Christalena2,

Thank you for your very detailed answers. I really appreciate all the helpful information you’ve given me so far. I have a few more general questions and I’d really love to get your input.

In regards to the honors level intro business courses (econ, accounting, etc.), were the classes capped at a certain number of students?

Do you have any professor recommendations?

Can you give me an example of a group project in any of the SCM courses? Are final exams project based as well?

Did you have any trouble maintaining a high gpa and balancing co-curricular activities or a part time job?

Thanks again for answering my questions, all your answers have been wonderfully helpful.
I’m almost positive I’m going to ASU, mostly due to the Obama Scholars Program.

My son is also a SCM major at ASU. He will be a senior in the coming Fall. He had three different summer internships since his freshman year. SCM at ASU is highly repected and recruited.

Thanks for the response Christian2…did your son also enter Barrett? I’m a little worried now because my SAT scores were lower than I anticipated :(

Yes, my son is in Barrett. A few points about making youself an attractive candidate for employment: 1. Study hard to maintain a high GPA. 2. Involve with Supply Chain Management Associates and may be other business related associations if time permits. 3. Get to know ASU’s Career Center well. ASU has one of best Career Center with many resources available to help students in job search. 4. Start early in looking for internships.
