Surely I'm Overthinking...

I’m a bit high strung with all these college decisions coming out, and I just had a scary thought.

So after I applied EA to a certain school, one of my recommenders, who is a Facebook friend, jokingly commented on one of my Facebook posts “Surely CERTAIN SCHOOL would want you!”
I was deferred, but that’s not the problem.

I know they don’t check everyone’s social media, but if admissions officers of other school happened to check my Facebook and see that post, would it have any negative impact on me? Would they think their schools aren’t one of my top choices? Sorry I know this is a pretty laughable thing to stress about, but I’m just so anxious right now hahaha

I think its more urban legend than truth that ADCOMS are checking FB. If anything, more look at linkedin to see your resume now than other social media sites. Try not to worry. Likely not a factor.

Surely you are. With tens of thousands of applicants, surely an AO does not even have the time to do so is s/he were so inclined. Regardless, it’s an innocuous post, so stop worrying.

Agree, you are overthinking.
