In reference to yet another verbal war going on in the parent forum, I'd like to point out a few surest things you can say to draw fire here on the prep school forum. Others can complete the list.

Call other people or their opinions "idiot", "moron", "ridiculous", "crap"... Often times, what you read is just a different perspective. Just because you don't understand or agree the assumptions and rationale of an opinion, doesn't make it "ridiculous" or the person "idiot".

Rate another school "second tier"/"third tier". State the facts. Don't label it. People get offended.

Call your own school "number 1". It is a bad idea even if you say you "subjectively" believe your school is number 1 (ever heard the "fit" theory?), not to mention you want to convince people "statistically" you are number 1. You will lose that battle.

Unnecessary sarcasm. Show respect to people who read and respond to your posts. And try not to use one sentence, which is often enigmatic, to respond to a long post. In real life, with your charming smile and a pat on the back that might work, but on an Internet board it often comes out as dismissive and rude.
