Surprising e-mail from an Admissions Counselor

Northstarmom, I agree with you. It is an unofficial admit.

kelsmeister -- Congratulations. Getting an e-mail like this is unusual, and is pretty close to a likely letter. My D received a similar e-mail from another college in early December and several weeks later got word that she had been admitted EA and was the recipient of a substantial merit scholarship.

CradleofFilth, My essay topic was over adjusting to American culture. It's not exactly something that everyone can write about. It took me forever to pick a topic though. You should write about something that makes you unique that the college admission officers can't tell about you from your application alone. Then I made it more like a story than a one-dimensional boring essay about how I was super wonderful and why they needed accept me.

Dunnin, you're not bursting my bubble, an unofficial admit is still exciting news to me! =D

I applied there and they did not send me that. So no, they do not do that to everyone. Maybe, they still will, but I doubt it.

Congrats! I agree with the others, it sounds like an informal admission. That's exciting! : )

I know of a Clark applicant that got an e-Mail recently from Admissions thanking them for their application and saying how much they enjoyed the essay.

I'm not sure if all applicants are getting these.
