Suspended Financial and Loans related

My Financial Aid was suspended for academic reasons. Until I get a 2.0 GPA, I will not be given any Financial Aid. But, i am kind of confused. I know that I will not be getting any grants at all. But, does this also mean that I will not be getting any type of loans that I was previously getting? I was getting Federal Perkins loans to be specific. I can't go back to my school until Fall 2015 and I might be taking classes during Summer 2015 (school doesn't give FA during summer regardless of your academic standing) to help bring my GPA up to a 2.0 so. If my university doesn't let me take summer classes then I will have to pay Fall 2015 tuition out-of-pocket, which I absolutely cannot do at all. If you guys know anything about this. Please help me out. And what other subsidized loans are out there besides the Federal ones?

All federal aid is suspended for students not making satisfactory academic progress. That includes loans. I guess they know that there is little chance to get the loan money back if you can’t pass your classes and they don’t want to be stuck paying for classes that aren’t passed. Here is a link that discusses regaining eligibility.

I would suggest you start working because you are going to have to start to repay the previous loans if you are not a full time student within 6 months.Meanwhile maybe it is a good idea to pay for and take one class and pass it with a good grade.

Really? That’s bad news for me then. I was also thinking of doing what you suggested. Take one summer class, get an A and that would help me boost my GPA upto a 2.15. Do you know any other private subsidized loans that I can apply for just in case my school doesn’t let me take summer classes and the money I collect from work isn’t enough?

No private loans are subsidized. Students usually can’t get private loans without a co signer.

Why wouldn’t school let you take a summer class? You aren’t suspended are you?

I don’t think there are any private “subsidized loans” (who would be subsidizing??)

If you don’t have the income to support qualifying for these loans, you won’t get a lender.

Bank of Mom and Dad?

Can you take one class at community college and bring over the grade or does your school only let you bring over the credit hours?

The grade more than likely won’t transfer over, it will just be the credit hours.
