Suspension and its impact at USD

I was suspended during my sophomore year of high school for substance abuse and I had to check that dreaded "Have you been suspended box." Will this heavily impact my admissions into USD?

My GPA is 3.6, 1270 SATS, SATII: 660 Writing, 710 History, decent EC's. What do you guys think my chances are with this suspension on my record?

Also, should I explain the suspension and tell what I learned from it in the 'Additional Comments" box? Or would this just draw more unwanted attention to the fact that I was suspended in the first place?

Thanks

Bump...

Even if you guys arnt familiar with USD's admission policies, how much impact does suspension GENERALLY have?

Bring it up face value. Tell why you did, you're experience with it, but MOST IMPORTANTLY why you quit, and its impact on you. that is... if you quit... you did quit... right?

bump, this needs to be answered

It could certainly be a hook if you tell how you grew from the experience and overcoming the obstacle of drugs. But you did quit, right?

This is a bit off topic but how good is USD? Could Seacow get in? Assuming the substance abuse doesn't become a problem

i really doubt its an issue for usd. my friend got in with a 1010, sat2s in the high 400 low 500s, no ecs, and a number of disciplinary issues.
