I'm wondering is anybody has been able to get into a good college with a suspension on their record.
I have been suspended last year for 3 days for something (I will specify if needed)
And I have been HIGHLY concerned since about if I can get into a college I want to get into..
My grades are fine,
I'm in NHS,
I have achievements from the Honor Band,
I volunteer at a hospital,
I do internships.

paraphenelia…
i haven’t continued anything since,
and ive read things from admission people that they don’t care about the suspension, but how the person dealt with it and improved from then

If you’ve only been suspended three days, you couldn’t have burned the school down or killed the principal. You should write about it in your Common App essay and use that as a forum to explain how you have learned and how you have improved.

I was suspended for a fight (1 day), and a close friend got suspended for possession (5 days). I was accepted to MIT, and he’s now attending UPenn.

As long as it’s not an academic-related violation, I don’t think they will look too badly on it. They know that people make mistakes, and having a class body of identical do-gooders would be kind of annoying. As long as you can explain what happened and how you handled yourself afterward, as well as maintained a relatively proper record for the remainder of your school year, you should be fine.

Oh nice, so now if I get suspended, I can tell my parents that I know a guy who got into an ivy league college even after he got suspended constantly, and a couple who got into MIT. xDDD

I was suspended for one day my junior year because I forged my algebra ii teacher’s signature so that I could get into pre calc honors my senior year (it even said in my school’s booklet that forging for the first offense is detention and the second offense is suspension; this was my first offense). however, my transcript doesn’t say that i got suspended and i dont think my guidance counselor checked yes or wrote an explanatory statement for the common app guidance counselor school report paper. What do i do? Please help; it’s an emergency.
