SVA Computer Art vs NYU Tisch Animation?

What are your thoughts/personal experience/advice on these two schools? Which school offers better financial aid/scholarships?

SVA (total cost = $56,373)
Pros: close to home, has amazing industry connections, the work produced seems top-notched
Cons: not in a university setting (I’d like to minor in science as I have interest in becoming a scientific visualizer)

NYU (total cost = $63,472)
Pros: close to home, one of the best film schools in the country, is a university (I always have the option of double-majoring/minoring in a field other than art)
Cons: more expensive, I don’t know much about their animation department (haven’t seen much of student works/achievements)

I hope to become an animator, storyboard/concept artist, visual effects/cgi artist, or scientific animator. The dream is to one day be working for NASA in at least one of these fields.

Look into MICA, RIT, or Carnegie Mellon. They have opportunities to minor in a science and work with other majors. It would prepare you much better than SVA (commercial art focus) or NYU (film theory focused more than hands-on).
