I applied to SVA about a month ago as a transfer student for the spring 2012 term. I had not heard anything from the school except the emails confirming my application. On Tuesday night I received this email:

"Happy New Year!

The start of the spring 2012 semester is quickly approaching and we want you to know there is still time to enroll at SVA. We will continue to accept enrollment fees as space remains available in each of our academic programs.

As an accepted student, I would like to extend our services and guidance to you in this process. Please feel free to contact your Admissions Counselor (as outlined below) with any questions or concerns you have about the enrollment process.

I hope to see you on campus very soon!

Sincerely,

Cindy Davis
Associate Director of Admissions"

While it seemed a little unorthodox since I hadn't gotten anything in the mail, I thought that this was the best they could do to confirm my admission just days before classes were to start.

The next night I received another email from admissions stating that the previous email had been sent out by mistake and that my application had not even been processed.

At this point I had spent the past 24 hours thinking that I had been accepted to SVA, not only telling my friends and family, but informing my current school of my transfer. When I contacted SVA about the second email, I was offended by how lightly they took it, when I had been completely humiliated by their mistake. At this point I am crushed and afraid to do anything about it because of my pending admittance to SVA

Please let me know if anyone else has been through a similar experience and if anything can be done about it.
