Admitted/Denied Letter

Evening -

I'm still waiting on my letter from UVA admissions. Is anyone else still waiting on theirs? I'm a College of Arts and Sciences transfer student.

Thanks

I know there was a few still left to be decided on. You can check your decision online if you applied online, too, which would give you a decision sooner than the letter. Then again, with the late decisions, they may be doing something fishy. Check out Dean J's blog for the link to the transfer blog, and see if anything is there (or google UVA transfer blog...sorry I don't have the address, my laptop is getting a new screen after I dropped it last week at 2am...eek!).

You might try calling them too. I know they said decisions are going to be late, but if I had been in this position last year, I'd be p***ed that the decisions are over a week late at this point. It makes it seem like they're waiting on 1st year decisions...grr. Good luck!!!

I can't check it online because I am a rollover applicant. Oh well, with the rumor that they admitted too many freshman for fall 2008, I'm not shocked that this is taking a while.

Yeah, no offense to UVA or their admissions, but this is crap. All transfers should have known by May 1st. They had no trouble last year getting out all of the decisions on time, and my guess is there's a few more VCCS-agreement applicants than last year, so it should've been easier. Then again, since some are waiting for the CommSchool, they may not have been waiting on freshmen.

I don't know what to tell you. I'm so sorry you had to wait this long, good luck to you. I would hope that the admissions office isn't being horribly shady right now and screwing over transfers. I like to think innocent until proven guilty....but they're looking awfully guilty right now. Sure, it's a game in admissions, trying to keep even amount of students in, but they went over by 200 in their admissions of first years. With top schools going to the WL and the typical change of plans by people, my guess is that by the time school rolls around in the fall UVA won't be over enrolled. But what do I know. Again, best of luck to you.
