swimming pool policies

I have read through the pool policies (UCLA Recreational Sports: North Pool) and have several questions in mind.

Swimmers should soap shower before swimming.

I am just curious how they can make sure that you have soap showered before jumping into the pool?

Lockers are available for purchase at the John Wooden Center Sales & Cashiering desk.

How is this operated? How long can you keep the locker? Is there any need for that?

Also, am I required to swim in one lane back and forth and any other fun (like swim underwater across lanes) is prohibited?

Thanks in advance!

Any help would be appreciated!

It says “Circle pattern swimming is required in designated lanes”. The only reason you should have for swimming into someone else’s lane is to join them or to get into another lane further down, though getting out of the pool would be better to do that. It’s common courtesy and allows people to continue their exercise without having it interrupted or them accidentally swimming into someone.

If you aren’t in the designated lanes, then it’s a free for all I suppose.

Thanks raginglulu! Any idea about other questions?

I’m sorry but I don’t.

Um, they have no way of checking if you’ve showered or not lol. It’s just expected that you do. If they noticed you jump right in before showering I doubt they’re going to do anything.

And I believe lockers are rented on a quarter basis? You have to request a locker at the John Wooden center and I’m fairly sure you have to do this at the beginning of every quarter.

Thank you all! I now have a somewhat clearer idea.
