Switching colleges?

<p>So I got accepted to Muir as a Mechanical Engineering major…pretty sweet. But now that I’m in, I’m hearing that Warren is the best college to go to as an engineering major (when I ranked college on the application, I did it semi-randomly because their desciptions all sounded pretty much the same). Then I saw an FAQ page on UCSD’s site, and it said that you would not be allowed to switch colleges once admitted. So am I going to feel out of place or at a disadvantage by being at Muir instead of Earl Warren? Is there maybe some way to switch during the year, or for sophomore year? Would it even be worth it?</p>

<p>I don't think it would matter too much. Maybe Warren is the best because it's the closest to Engineering classes?</p>

<p>Bump...oh and I found out I got the Regents scholarship, which is great. You get priority registration with that scholarship right? And I hear you can also choose which college you want to go to if it's other than what you picked on your application...is that true?</p>

<p>Also I guess what I'm mainly concerned about is will I feel out of place by not being at the college best suited for engineers. Any input is appreciated.</p>

<p>You're right. However, I can't tell you much about the colleges. Maybe you're better off asking a current student.</p>

<p>When you log in to see your decision, you can click Continue, then Preliminary Award Notice. If you got Regents, it'll show it after you click through twice.
Mine's kinda hard to miss...I have a ridiculously large amount of financial need, so it shows up for $17000 =P</p>

<p>Bull. I got nothing. Apparently I missed Warren Honors by 20 points, even though I got Honors at UCLA.</p>
