I'm interested in switching my major from business administration to broadcasting journalism. Would this be a worthwhile degree or should I continue on with business? Also, I'm aware that dodge is well-known, but how good is there broadcasting journalism program? Do they have good connections with the industry? and does anyone know how difficult it would be to make this switch?
Thanks!

…

The two are very dissimilar. Journalism uses reading and writing and requires strong analytic skills. Depending upon the part of business you administer, you might focus on people skills or on processes. What do you like to do?

Journalists could end up traveling frequently or living outside of major cities. Many jobs will be in smaller markets. Is that OK?

If you’re looking for journalism jobs, you’ll be competing against candidates who majored in an academic area they want to write about but got their technical training in a school or community radio or tv station. Are you as good as they are? If not, stick to business. You’ll have much more opportunity.
