Switching from Non Engineering to Engineering Major

I have been accepted into Business Economics as a major in UCSD. My first choice was electrical engineering. Can some one help me to understand if it is possible to change from non engineering to engineering major , how competitive it is and how does the process works. I do not find much info on the site and also not much info is available while calling to UCSD. I am an international student.

You can try to transfer into Electrical Engineering at the end of each quarter at UCSD. Admission is based solely on GPA. Prior to applying, you need to pass eight courses: MATH 20A-B-C, PHYS 2A-B, ECE 35, ECE 45, and ECE 65. The odds of getting in vary from quarter to quarter; it’s difficult, but not impossible. Other engineering departments have a similar process with different prerequisite courses. Some students also consider majoring in Engineering Physics or other related, non-impacted disciplines.

@DoctorP Thx . Very helpful.
