Just a question..I ended up getting 3rd choice on the FWS and it's ENGL Memoir & Memory, which people say are intense in writing :( I only chose it because of schedule conflicts (I could only pick seminars at night). Anyway just wondering, is there anyway to switch FWS or is the course actually not that bad.

You can switch it on your add drop day. I think you can already search FWS’s in time slots you have available on the student center and see if they have open spots. If you get up bright and early on add drop day you can drop or swap your FWS with one you pick.

If one you really want is not open, enroll in one that is, and keep checking student center throughout the day. It’s almost inevitable that someone will drop it and open it up.

Also, if you want to try and optimize your schedule (if you haven’t already), Chequered is a really easy way to organize your schedule how you want. (<a href=“ChequeRd.com is for sale | HugeDomains”>ChequeRd.com is for sale | HugeDomains).

Oh really it’s as easy as that?? When is add drop day btw

I took that course. Ofc the prof/TAs running the FWS change but the general content is supposed to be the same. You basically explore whether autobiographies and memoirs are “real” as intended by authors or are essentially works of fiction. I felt the writing required from my TA was easy since one of them was to write something about my own memories or something like that. Also one of the “texts” required is “Maus” (you might want to check on the cornell store list to see if that’s still true) which is a graphic novel.

Personally I thought this subject matter was very practical and better than something like fairy tales or this other one I did titled something along the lines of “Gendered and Haunted Spaces”. Search my other posts. It sucked. in terms of intense in writing the prof was a PhD is english lit so it was MUCH more intense than my M&M course. Depends on the prof/TA!
