Switching high schools

Hey, I’m in highschool right now…Its my sophmore year and i’m 1 month in the school year. My family has decided to move elsewhere so i’ll be going to a new high school. I have a few concerns:

  1. The new school i’m going to does not offer the language I am taking right now(chinese 2),So i’ll be starting fresh in spanish 1. I am not really trying in chinese because I know i’ll be switching. Will the grade I get in chinese transfer over into spanish? If not, should I continue to not try. Were probably going to be at the old school for at least another month so. I have an F in chinese and it’s making me nervous. Also, it will be on my quarter progress report since those are around the corner.
  2. I am currently taking AP euro at my school, and they don’t offer it at the new one. Can I get into a new AP class if i’m 2 months late?

Anyone? :((

Talk to the guidance counselors at both schools about what you should do and what your schedule will look like.

Keep trying Chinese…the grade won’t carry over but it will be on your transcript I think.
It is okay that you will start a new language…when you apply to college your GC can mention that in their recommendation that you had to change schools.

I would talk to your new GC to see if there is a way to continue AP Euro online.

Your F will appear on your transcript when it goes from your current HS to the new one, so go see the teacher and make up all the work you need to get at least a C.

See if you can continue any class online (including Chinese)

an additional thing to remember is that you can take AP tests without taking the classes if that is what you are going for.
