Switching Majors after Transfer in TAG Program

The UC TAG Program only applies to select majors, which on a school by school basis. For example, UCSB doesn’t guarantee transfer admission to students who declare an Engineering major. Let’s say I enter a transfer agreement with UCSB saying that I will major in Political Science (which is accepted in transfers), but as soon as I get to UCSB, I immediately change my major to Computer Engineering.

Is this a legit strategy, or will this be seen with suspicion?

You usually cannot switch into engineering.

@Ohm888 but can you switch into another major other than the one you TAGed?

Yes, the TAG part shouldn’t be an obstacle. It’s about the rules in place at the UC.
