<p>However, if you are undecided between several majors, you need to plan your first year schedule so that you can choose any of them without delaying graduation due to prerequisite sequences. This is especially true if one of the majors has long prerequisite sequences like engineering or physics.</p>

<p>I would say that by your 4th semester you should be getting into classes tailored specifically to your major. Up to that point, you can certainly design your schedule to mainly knock out gen ed requirements.</p>
