Does anyone know how hard it is to switch majors? I got in as an Economics major, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to pursue Political Science, if I don't decide to double.

it's not hard unless ur switching into like journalism or film, which your not, just talk to your counseler on orientation

It's a piece of cake if it's within the same school (College of Letters Arts and Sciences).

you can probably just tell them at orientation and they'll fix it right up for you there, no muss, no fuss.

I emailed my admissions counselor about 2 weeks ago (about three weeks after I was admitted) saying I wanted to change it, and he changed it right there and then without any questions. It was within the same school (letters, arts, sciences)

What if you want to change to a major in another school?

My major is currently 'undecided' - so how hard would it be to get into the competitive schools? If I don't get the major that I want, what would happen then? I would be forced to stay in USC studying a subject I don't want to study?

These are excellent concerns and questions. You should really ask the counselors these questions as things are ever-changing. These USC counselors are absolutely wonderful. They are accessible and welcoming. Please begin to know them, as they will guide you. At our orientation, I was so impressed with how much they care, and how much my daughter relies on their guidance.
