Switching majors

How difficult would it be to switch from the engineering to business if I decide engineering is not for me?

Also, on my application I indicated one type of engineering. I've heard that we declare at the end of our freshman year. If I choose a different type I'm assuming it is no problem. Do they limit ME's for example?

Switching to business is not completely impossible, but it is very difficult. You have to go through the internal transfer process and business is the most popular college to transfer into, so even if you have strong grades you might not be permitted to change. It is very easy however to switch to CAS.

how easy is it to switch into engineering?

From what? If you are a physics major with strong grades and you switch after 1 year, it’s not too difficult. From business, very very difficult. Engineering requires a lot of courses and unless you’ve already taken several of them when you try to transfer, you won’t be able to graduate on time-- so they won’t accept you.
