I am interested in switching the College that I am applying to from Engineering to LS&A (in order to major in physics). Is this at all possible during the application period?

You can call and ask, though if you get admitted to the College of Engineering, it should not be difficult to switch to the College of Letters and Science after enrolling (and Physics is not a capped major).

I applied under Nuclear Engineering, but want to switch to Physics.

it is easier to be admitted to L&S. They don’t even consider the major itself, considering all applicants to be undeclared. If possible, switching will help your chances for admission. Call up and try to have this done, it is to your advantage.

If it doesnt work and you are admitted to CoE, switching to L&S is trivially easy. Switching the other direction is quite a bit more challenging.
