Switching to Chemical Engineering

Admission to the Chemical Engineering major is determined by a number of factors, including an overall UCSB grade point average of 3.0 or better, and satisfactory completion of the following courses or their equivalents: Mathematics 3A-B-C; Chemistry 1A-AL, 1B-BL, 1C-CL, or their 2 series equivalents; Engineering 3; Physics 1-2. Decisions involving factors beyond scores and grades are made exclusively by the chemical engineering faculty. Only a limited number of petitions will be approved.

So I applied to college of arts and sciences under the major Economics and am probably going to be a freshman at ucsb this fall. I want to switch to chemical engineering. How hard would this be to do given the guidelines i pasted above?

I’m also wondering the same thing and I think those requirements you posted are for people that are currently attending to switch over to Engineering. I hope they don’t mind people switching over because I’m in the same situation as well.
