I'll be a first-year Vanderbilt student starting this fall, and I have registered for GER-102-1 (Elem. German II, section 1) for the fall semester. On the German SAT Subject Test, I did not score high enough to place into GER-103 (I only scored a 370), but I decided I might know enough German to skip GER-101 and start with 102.

Does anyone know a way I can view syllabi for GER-101 and GER-102, or anything else that might help me figure out whether I made the right choice? As far as I know, the only information I have now are the course descriptions in the catalog, which are not specific enough to help me in my particular situation.

If it turns out that GER-102 is too advanced for me, I will probably move into French 101A. That's why I'd like to get this info now instead of waiting till school starts, because if I wait till school starts, I'll have to make my decision very quickly, because the more of the first days of French class I miss, the harder it'd be to switch into it and catch up.

I emailed this question to the German department a week ago, but they haven't responded, and they may never do so since it's summer, so I decided to ask you guys here. Thanks.
