Syracuse Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

Well congrats! Awesome opportunity

umich does!

not to freak anyone out but they usually do majority of acceptances in the first round, waitlists with few acceptances in the second, and rejections in the third. don’t hold me too it though because some acceptances can get lost in those rounds but thats usually how cuse has done it in the past. I know…annoying!

I thought I had a decent shot at Syracuse as I got into penn state UP and they have similar acceptance rates, however I just got rejected at umass amherst so I’m a bit all-over the place.
Some basics:
-Dual US citizen that lives in Ireland
-Graduated with the equivalent of a 37 IB diploma
-GPA and class rank aren’t available, took all classes at the highest rigor available.

  • Decent EC’s w/ leadership positions
  • Killer Personal statement
  • Great Recommendation Letters

Applying as a chemistry major with hopes of doing forensics. If anyone could give me any insight as to whether I have a chance or not it would be appreciated!

I got waitlisted from umass despite having stats that would normally get me accepted. Their acceptances this year were incredibly not normal so I wouldn’t worry. I’m pretty much in your boat.

I would say you have a pretty good shot. If you don’t get it, you’ll definitely be waitlisted at the very least.

idk why I’m so anxious about syracuse when I already know I’m not going even if I get in jeez

you should probably withdraw then…

I got into UMass Amherst so I hoping I get in Syracuse. Thought they were both about same for what they were looking for. In fact think UMass might even be harder to get into.

I havent committed anywhere yet so I haven’t withdrawn just in case something happens (and I wouldnt be taking anyones spot anyways because thats not how it works)

a lot of the california state schools do

I’m so nervous that my extracurriculars aren’t good enough. I sent an update that I’m a varsity captain and I sent in a resume mid Feb but Idk if that was too late. My only other extracurriculars are two varsity sports, MUN, class officer positions, peer mentoring, and part time jobs. I didn’t describe things well in my activity section.

I think your activities are good, mine aren’t great so I’m in the same boat lol

I know a lot of people have really impressive activities, so I’m insanely nervous I will be rejected.

Same tbh. I doubt you’ll be rejected, waitlisted at the very least.

I hope my stats carry me

have you gotten decision yet for VPA design?

nope im guessing you got one ?

Does anybody know how comparable admissions difficulty to UVM is to Syracuse? I got into UVM early action with presidential scholarship and no honors, but syracuse is my top right now. Im very nervous.

It is harder to get into Syracuse slightly. I think Syracuse is like 50% and Vermont is closer to 60%? Unless you applied to Newhouse, then it is super difficult. So if you got into Vermont with a scholarship you most likely will get in to Syracuse.

I am not a newhouse applicant, I applied to CAS at syracuse. I know UVM gives out those scholarships a lot so I don’t know how indicative that is of how impressed they were, considering I did not get into honors. I am out of state though too. I have showed syracuse a lot more demonstrated interest and taken SUPA classes. Hopefully it helps.
